…but smoking’s really stretching it
You fancy a bit of VIP treatment…..and what’s wrong with a bit of bling? From neon lights to a capacious environment of leather seats and shagpile carpets, the world of Austin Powers is yours for a day if you hire one of Al’s American limos in Anglesey. However much of a VIP you think you are there a few demands which can’t be met – lighting-up in the back is strictly off limits as is munching on a greasy kebab. Madonna would surely approve…..
Based on the Mona showground and with a fleet of limos - a white Lincoln Town Car and a bright pink Chrysler PT Cruiser - Al's limos was the first company of its kind in Anglesey. For the past six years the limos have ferried groups and families in total luxury to their hen do’s, stag parties, weddings, birthdays, race meetings and special occasions across north Wales and the north west of England.
From the outset, owners Al and Noelyne Davies wanted to make the business smoke-free and although the cars came fitted with ashtrays they made the decision to silicon the ashtrays shut to avoid any temptation for eager smokers.
Noelyne said, “We've had a lot of appreciation from customers for our non-smoking policy. It would be wrong to say we haven’t had the odd occasion when people have tried to smoke in the limos but it’s not normally a problem.
“We explain to all our guests before setting out that if they are smokers to give plenty of notice but that we will happily stop at a lay-by or service area en-route so that they can have a cigarette. We carry over 2000 people a year so we must be doing something right and as we may do more than one pick up in one night it's not fair on the next customers to put up with the smell of smoke from previous passengers. We also carry a lot of children to parties and in the same way I wouldn’t want to put them in a similar smoky situation.
“You can have your fun but all that we ask is that you keep your cigarettes at bay while you’re on the road.”
