Junction Cafe, The Old Station Building, Blackpill, Swansea

All aboard…
…for a smoke-free future

Junction Café stands on the sandy perimeter of romantic Swansea Bay and is housed in the last surviving building related to the Swansea & Mumbles Railway, the world’s first passenger railway service. With a successful smoke-free policy since the café opened five years ago, the only smoke that has ever been here was from the steam engines that once chugged along the seafront.

Crowned Britain’s fittest city, Swansea is famous for the Gower peninsula with its sweeping beaches for swimming and surfing. Swansea Bay is a haven for activity enthusiasts whether it’s cycling, jogging or walking. Smoking would certainly be out of place at the Junction Café! There are plenty of delicious meals on offer here including cooked lunches, sandwiches, soups and kids' meals - and not a cloud of cigarette smoke in sight.

Jamie Lee, Supervisor at the Junction Café said, “We’ve never had any complaints from our customers - we mostly serve food, so they accept that smoking isn’t allowed in the café. As we’re situated right on Swansea Bay promenade, our regulars come in for their coffee, weekend walkers and cyclists pop in for a refreshing break and we get a lot of visitors who come here to enjoy the beach and the fresh air. A smoky environment would only ruin their enjoyment!”
